The Hard Rock Bali at Kuta Beach is located on the beach front with 418 rooms and suites. This was the first prototype for a 24 hour Hard Rock environment that has since been expanded to a number of different countries. The hotel is located on the iconic Kuta Beach covering a 3 hectare site with 418 rooms and suites. The focus of the landscape is the large free-form swimming pool with a central sand island that doubles as an entertainment stage surrounded by cabanas and sun decks.
SCI’s role was to prepare the landscape architecture concepts through to detailed design for the external gardens. Originally designed as a Balinese water park the concept was later revised into a Caribbean-Asian cross design theme. The concept follows a metaphor of Bali with angular pools surrounding a free form sand island. Cabanas are located within the shallow pools, on stilts, and in the garden for massage, or a stay with the family. The design is pure resort style but with an attitude for fun.
