Design Manager – SCI Shanghai

This position is ideal for a seasoned Landscape Architect or an Architect who has worked in a similar landscape consultancy environment with a very strong design sense and exceptional design management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Takes charge of concept schemes, capable of pushing it through from inception to completion, as well as demonstrating strong leadership skills;
  • Responsible for the concept design, detail development and delivery of projects;
  • Representing SCI at Client Presentations and Industry Networking Events;
  • Preparing concept design schemes from Client briefs;
  • Delegating work to other team members, programming deliverables, monitoring progress and ensuring on time delivery of submission packages;
  • Working as part of a team in the preparation of production information and working drawing packages;
  • Compilation of reports and documents and supporting the rest of the team in drawing documents for bids, expressions of interest and competitions;
  • Work with other consultants and disciplines to ensure seamless integration with the structural and other building services that complement the Landscape Architectural Intent;
  • Successfully communicate the concept to Clients, Contractors and other consultants ensuring the level of information / discussion is appropriate to the audience. This should include discussion of fundamental design concepts and principles through technical detailing and the application of proven and tested technologies;
  • Have an understanding of the latest, applicable and innovative materials and technologies, making informed decisions on their use and specification;
  • Support and develop junior team members through guidance, mentoring and where feasible, direct involvement;
  • Ensure that projects under their supervision are sufficiently resourced, highlighting any problems and issues to their Team Leader;
  • Practices continued professional growth by using CPD seminars and other similar programs.

Requirements

  • Qualified Landscape Architect  or Architect with minimum 5 years experience in a landscape consultancy firm;
  • Strong design orientation as the primary function of this position;
  • Able to present information clearly to both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Passion for design and interest in developments within the Landscape Architecture industry;
  • Working knowledge of software to include AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign and SketchUp;
  • Experience of producing concept statements and designs;
  • Able to draw ‘free hand’ sketches and illustrate to a high level;
  • Capable of working and completing tasks independently as well as working as part of a team.;
  • Able to demonstrate an adaptable and approachable role within the company;
  • Flexibility in work location and an ability to work across the country as required is desirable;
  • Fluent in oral and written Mandarin and/or English.

Senior Landscape Designer – SCI Shanghai

  • Manage and supervise a design team;
  • Works under minimal supervision/guidance;
  • Leads and motivates the team to achieve its assigned goals. Monitors the design process from the concept to schematic stages and ensures accuracy and presentability of the drawings;
  • Provide design and production support on all phases of a project;
  • Completes design sketches, presentation drawings, working drawings, diagrams, schedules and other computer generated or hand drawn documents as required by the project;

Landscape Detailer

Our Cebu, Philippines office is seeking for a motivated staff to join our Production Department.

Responsibilities shall include but not limited to the following:

  • Detailing architectural drawings, produce, review, and put together drawings packages;
  • Preparing whole sets of plans for design development and construction drawings;
  • Selecting materials for details and plans.

Requirements:

  • Attained qualification equivalent to Bachelor in Architecture;
  • At least 1 year working experience in CAD detailing;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD. Knows Revit software is favourable;
  • Familiar with Photoshop and Sketch up;

Mumbai, India

Landscape Architect

Our Mumbai office is seeking for a focused and energized Landscape Architect to join our Landscape Design Team to take a lead role in environmental design.

Responsibilities shall include but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, directing and organizing in all aspects of landscape design, site inspection during site administration;
  • Liaising with other regional offices for design/DD works.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture;
  • At least 2 years of working experience in Design and Detailing of all project types;
  • Good design and problem solving skills;
  • Competence in AutoCAD and the use of Adobe software packages;
  • Proficiency in using key design software programs such as Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Sketchup
  • Technical organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge in hardscape details and planting;
